Quirky Tag

I'm not usually in the habit of doing every tag that comes along, but for some reason this one has been plaguing me. I can't stop thinking about it. I am supposed to list 6 quirks I have, which sounds easy enough unless you just happen to be the most boring girl on Earth, as I am. The person who tagged me used her husband as a sounding board for ideas, which I thought was a great idea, as I was sure there would be things-a-plenty that I do that seem weird to Ty. Nope. He didn't have anything for me, but we had fun coming up with several quirks of HIS. I was thinking this tag would be a lot easier if we had to list the quirks of our spouses... Oh well, even though Ty was too nice (or perhaps too wiley - who wouldn't be suspicious of such a loaded question as, "Do I do anything out of the ordinary, you know, things that bug you?") to help me out, I DID come up with a couple things I do that I THINK he thinks are odd (although if he accidentally mentions them he quickly recovers his good graces by saying they're "cute"). So here goes:

#1. I choke. On everything. I choke on ice cream. I choke on water. I choke on air. Ty's usual comment for this one is, "You found it!" or "It's got bones in it." The sad thing is that I passed it on to my children. We are a family of chokers, and Ty just sits back and chuckles.

#2. I chew. I chew milkshakes and ice cream. I even chew soda, or at least that's what Ty thinks I'm doing. Really I just can't guzzle things, so I take a big swig and then several small gulps after that.

#3. I sneeze exactly one time after I eat anything chocolate. Or when I take Nyquil.

#4. I laugh like a wounded donkey. This is perhaps the only thing I have ever been teased about, and yet it remains practically the only thing I am not self-conscious about. Even my kids point it out by going through phases where they imitate it.

#5. I can't sleep if my sheets and blankets and pillow aren't straight. This one causes trouble because Ty prefers a nest of wadded-up linens in which to nestle with a side of randomly-placed, folded-over pillow.

#6. When I'm frustrated or over-stimulated I get itchy (usually my neck and back), which adds to the already frazzled feeling, and I clench my jaw. I guess I'm not very good at hiding my anger.

So there you have it. Now I can move on with my life and quit obsessing over this tag.

Aren't our quirkies funny? I'm glad you answered this tag, it was entertaining for me.

You are so funny! I'm the same way as you with the whole sleeping thing. And Ty sounds like he's just like Joel. Joel teases me because if at bed time the bed is still un-made (this happens more often than it should), I have to make it and then get it, so that the sheets and blanket are nice and straight. I think I passed this on to Noah because when I tuck him at night, if there is any wrinkle in his blanket he won't let me leave until I fix it. I wonder what my other quirks are. You're going to have me obsessing about his too.

I am so glad you did this tag! Those are definitely quirky! haha....I think mine were more embarrassing then quirky but oh well. That is funny that you choke on everything, maybe that's because you chew on everything first, instead of just swallowing??

That's funny, Boo. Those are the things that make you, You! I chew everything too, but my husband has never noticed (as far as I know).

Okay, you are officially a freak. But, because I too have some freak-like tendencies, we can still be friends!
