We Have a Local Restaurant Called The Pie Hole...Hold Your Excitement...They Serve Pizza

I am a fan of pie.

(insert plea to ABC to please reinstate Pushing Daisies)

So tonight, when I found a recipe for Chicken a la King that called for leftover grilled chicken (which is exactly what I had a whole lot of) and pastry shells, what do you think I did?

I made 12 tiny pie shells.

And, darn it, I had just enough dough left over for a pie crust.

And while I won't be making a pie tonight (we had muddy buddies for dessert - it was very apropos, given Ty's current project in our garage...although mud pie would have been just as fitting, come to think of it), there is definitely some sort of cream pie in tomorrow's forecast.

The only problem is that I can't decide on just one flavor.

So I wondered, what is your favorite pie?

(And if you live anywhere but Chicago or in a really bad mob movie, don't even think about calling pizza 'pie')

(And Ty just finished all the mudding. Tomorrow: texturing. I'm going to call him 'Muddy Buddy' for the rest of the week)

Rhubarb. Plain and simple. Plus, I'm pretty sure Rhubarb is in season. At least, in WA it is. :) Makes me want some pie!

YES!!! I'm a rhubarb girl too.. and it never hurts to throw in some strawberries. I also love Marie Calendar's razzleberry. Or have you tried my sister Emily's recipe for cherry almond? ToDieFor. I loved the Pushing Daisies plea. I'm with you, 1004% Can you tell I'm hungry, pregnant and can't sleep?

A nice warm cheery pie is my favorite (bet you thought I'd say apple).

Ps. I loved Pushing Daisies.

I cannot resist a good raspberry or jumbleberry pie. Do you want to go ahead and bring it with you when you come to our house Sunday? I wouldn't be upset if you did, and I just happen to have Breyer's vanilla ice cream in my freezer. Just saying.

So, just so you know, the pizzas in chicago are like, literally like pies. So you are right to say that chicagoans can call it that. and that's probably my favorite kind of pie. we can call it cheese and marinara sauce pie with whatever else ends up there, which is incidental. So what kind did you make?
