I think that I shall never see

We are, officially, tree owners. It's really true. A.J. Kilmer would be so pleased. As of 9:34 a.m. this very morning we own two red leaf royal maple trees, number 15 in size. They don't look like much, but our kind-hearted developer was sure to swing us a sweet deal since he happens to know the owners of the only nursery in town that carries this specific species (the precise species laid out in our contract that we were obligated to plant), thus rendering us forever indebted...not to him...just forever indebted. Yet another well-laid conspiracy to keep us ever-guessing as to how much this house is REALLY going to cost. This whole debacle comes mere days after a friendly run-in with said developer over our sprinkler system, which was at that exact moment being put in. We thought it so generous of him to stop by and hand deliver a NEW copy of subdivision covenants, especially since they have been updated quite completely since last we saw (and signed to obey) them. How thoughtful of him to think of us! Without his well-timed visit we may have had WAY too much money in our bank account, forcing us to waste it on a garden, sod, or I don't know, maybe even groceries! And we all know that buying things like that is just the first step on a slippery slope toward survival, or worse, security. Whew! That was a close one. Thank goodness for honest people like our developer and his side kick, the realtor, to keep us from that danger. You know, I am feeling so full of thanks on these newly developed issues that I think I'll write them a little note expressing my feelings. Better yet, I think I'll have Ty's grandpa write it for me. He's a lot better at putting words together, not to mention the fact that he has the most charming habit of following his signature with a cute little phrase that goes a little something like, now how does he put it? Oh yes: ATTORNEY AT LAW. Hmmm... not a bad idea.

Blogs are made by fools like me, but only lying, dirtbag developers can figure out how to make you resent a tree. Now excuse Alfred Joyce as he rolls over in his grave.

Only you can be so eloquent in venting your frustrations, which are very valid frustrations I might add. Does it help if I tell you your house is adorable inside and out, especially with the new trees? I loved your version of the tree poem. Joel will get a kick out of that. I'm sorry you've had to deal with dishonest people. You really do have a beautiful home, though.

Aaahh, I'm sorry Andrea. So they changed the laws on you since the first time you signed them? Yikes. Sounds like a scam. Your house sure is cute, though. It was fun to see a picture of your dirt yard and your cute (expensive) trees. Kimi had lots of fun at your house last week. I need to come see you one of these days when I feel brave enough to drive my heap that far.

Sorry for what happened, but I can't help but laugh a little at your entry! You are so funny, but no seriously I am sorry about the "dirtbags" that have lied to you guys! How awful to have to go through that. Your house looks way cute though!

Andrea, where did you get your cute blog template? I was tired of mine and got a different one, but I kind of hate it. I looked around at other websites with free templates, but didn't find anything promising.

Also, I'm afraid my little excursion to your house will have to be post poned for awhile. Our new fancy car broke down on us, so we only have one car right now. Bummer. As soon as it's fixed we'll plan a day for me to come up. That is, if I'm still invited?

So my question is how did our developer manage to change his name and simultaneously screw over people in Kuna and Pocatello? It has to be him, or his devil cousin or something. I just hate sneaky mean people. HATE them! I sooo feel your pain, and sadly, my venting is not quite as creative or eloquent as yours.

Well, I'd absoluetly LOVE to be your next door neighbor, and your home is darling, although after this post, I'm not so sure I want to get myself wrapped up in a similar situation. All that side, tell me about your house. How much land is it on, how many bedrooms, who was your developer and builder...all the good stuff like that. It would be fun to see pictures of the inside, too!
