*unrelated (to the post, that is. The people pictured are definitely related), as always

I have this great idea for a post about my recent trip to Costco. My first trip to Costco as an adult. With my own debit card.

Unfortunately it involves several very life-like drawings of the event, which presents a few problems:

#1. I don't have a drawing program on this computer. At least, not that I know of. And, more importantly, not that I'm willing to figure out.

#2. I somehow managed to be stupid enough to throw away my scanner (We had it for five years and never used it once. How was I to know I would soon become a fan of blogging?).

#3. Sadly, I have no drawing skills. So, even if I DID own a scanner (which I do not, as per #2), you would wonder about the sudden appearance of a rock chuck and a jack hammer on my little ol' blog. That is to say, you would be confused. Which, I'm guessing, you are anyway, so maybe I should invest in a new scanner. Just for fun.

Suffice it to say I bought my weight in candy bars.

Make your own mental picture, and we'll call it even.

p.s. You'll all be happy to know (at least I'm happily smug to report), that the mom in the white van (from my previous post) was honked-at last week. And not even by me!

YESSSSSSSssss!

Seriously, you're hilarious! A rock chuck? haha And it's a good thing you don't weigh very much at all...buying your weight in candy bars hahahaha! If I did that we'd have a year supply! And HOORAY for HONKING at the white van!!! I think you're entitled to honk now, because someone else did it first :) Either that or throw tomatoes at her van. Some people are so inconsiderate....and feel entitled. So annoying!

Can you please save some of that candy for your trip. Maybe by then I will be able to think about food w/out my stomach lurching!

So you bought five candy bars?

costco is a very dangerous place...as my reciept from earlier today proves.

Go honkers! (ha ha--that has mixed meaning!)

As our beloved Erma Bombeck put it, "There's a strangeness about being held captive in a store where you are surrounded by foods that are bigger than you are. They seem to dominate you."

Ah, I remember my first trip to Costco as an adult with my own card: I came home with 50 pounds of flour--and I didn't even know how to cook back then! I was wondering why it was so hard for me to get it from the pallet to my cart and then to my car, and then to my apartment. Spencer laughed till he cried and made fun of me for it until I used it up two years later, and then went back to Costco. Get your pics developed there. Oh, and I'm so glad that you got the candy bars. I'm always wishing I could. Some day when we aren't living the student lifestyle, I'll give in. You always do what I don't dare.

I love costco! Other than parishables that is my main shopping location for my family of . . .2! Whenever we have people over they always comment on how full my cupboard is :). If they look closer it is full with all of two items because of the quantity I am forced to purchase. BUT I DON'T CARE! I LOVE COSTCO!

Reading about the "honking" totally made my night. I was rolling on the ground laughing at the post about the obnoxious white van chick. thanks for the update. And I love costco! some of my costco faves are photography. you can get an 11x13 or whatever that size is, for like $4. I frame them and have them in the dining room get so many comments. they have good deals on cute jammies for kids. We get electronics and vacuums there because you can always return it and just get a new one.. no ?'s asked. I know you're vacuum savy now, but i'm not and it's a good thing there was costco. anyway, I'm happy for you.

So funny! I love Samera's face in that photo. I have never had my own membership to Costco and have only been like 3 times.
