This is my favorite back to school picture because

a. My children look confused.
b. I make my children look directly into the sun when I take pictures, just because that's what my parents always did to me, and I would like to pass that tradition down to the rising generation. This picture captures that.
c. I took it in the 37 second window between when Samera's hair is in place and when it looks like she has never before had the pleasure of using a comb.
d. My girls look like they get along better than they actually do.
e. Our door lock is showcased beautifully.
f. It is a little lopsided.
g. Sylas looking out the window is so symbolic of his sadness over being left behind in all the going-to-school excitement.
h. It is the last picture I am posting in August, and with it I have fulfilled my August Blogging Pledge obligation. (halle-flippin-lujah)

And THAT is why this is my favorite back to school picture.

I love that picture for all those reasons as well.. Except for the last one. Boo for September. I'm going to try and follow your lead though.. Wish me luck.

Well I, for one, loved your August blog pledge AND your cute back to school picture. It's a classic, with Sylas peering through the window behind them. Love it!

Love the picture. Sad about August being over, because I've enjoyed your posts. I enjoy your comments too. That's why I broke out the photostickers and tried to create a visual for you explanation of my photo story. I couldn't find any cat stickers though.

I love it too. I love all your pictures. You have a knack for capturing simple moments that tell about a million different stories.

Back to school makes me sad. I had a hard time with my nephews first day of school. It made me sad because they are one year older. One year closer to not running into my arms with excitement, one year closer to no longer snuggling up with me on the couch to watch movies, one year closer to them thinking I am a crazy-embarassing-Aunt, one year closer to going to college, getting married, moving away . . .tear.
